Today I had 2 interviews, I didnt wet last night, woke up early and changed out of my dry cloth and took a nice long bath. I put on makeup and both of my interviews were "casual" so I put on something even more conservative than usual, and just a goodnite. It was freezing outside, so I had to layer, and unfortunately that makes me look a little more masculine than usual, I need a less utilitarian, more feminine jacket. I felt really confident, and even went by my old job to see when the christmas party was, but more just to show off my cute self :)
This is where I interviewed - http://www.1888974jobs.com I need a job quick, so I called on friday and set up an interview for today. I filled out some routine paperwork, I was asked for my drivers license, which seemed a little strange, but I've had that happen at job interviews before, just usually later in the process. I waited for literally an hour and a half in a waiting room that more resembled a city bus, all walks of life coming in to get a job thats advertised on various lampposts, lots of texting and ringtones, frustrating. The people that worked there were pretty much all dressed in flipflops and sweatpants, I'm excited to think how easily it will be to discretely wear diapers in a place like this. There was another guy who had the same appointment time as me, and he eventually went to the window and asked what was going on, and they immediately saw us afterwards. Me and the guy were taken into an office by a late 20's hispanic guy, he had us read a script as if we were calling a customer.
To be arrogant for a moment I'm pretty solid when it comes to speaking, you've probably seen my videos, I'm definitely not a stuttering mess, I'd say I speak English rather fluently. The other dude kinda stumbled through it all, and if this place is looking for people with call center experience (which I have) and good verbal skills (again...) I should have no problem, I need a steadier income than organic farming and cam performing, what if I lose an arm or something... ok, I'm being silly, I definitly plan to make a career outside of being cute, I always thought in the back of my head that I'd end up a computer programmer.
The interviewer said he'd call us back by one tommorrow and schedule a second interview, I'm pretty excited, the receptionist lady said people start training as soon as they're hired so I could be working this week maybe, I won't stress about bills so much and might even be able to get myself and some friends a couple footies for christmas. I have plenty of didees that I've accrued over the years, but I could totally go for some more of the bulkier ones, like Abenas, I go through the tenas so fast and I only have a couple Bambinos left... I definitely wouldn't wear a Bambino to a job interview... unless I knew I wasnt going to get the job. Oh, and speaking of knowing I wont get a job, i also interviewed at a Cantina/Ultra-Lounge right by the capitol in downtown Sacramento. Its way out of my way, parking sucks, I'm horrifically under-qualified, I've tended bar at a crowded venue before, but only beer and wine and cash only. I was interviewing for a barback postion, and if anything it was just good practice for future interviews, and the people there were really nice, I'm pretty sure I passed 100% even after a pretty long interview, good stuff!
I don't expect a call back from the ultra lounge, which apparently blows regular lounges out of the water, but I definitely plan on hearing from the call center, and hopefully this little girl will have a comfy new job, even if it is just a stepping stone to an actual career!
*oh yeah, I forgot, this is also my 24/7 diary :P - I'm just going to be in Tenas for the rest of the day I think, then back into the clothie for ni ni, I'll report if anything interesting happens tomorrow :)
Hey wish you all the best for the new job! Go for it, you'll make it! Wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year! All the best!
